You need to have a plan to leave corporate. What is your budget going to look like?
Know your expenses. Taxes & employment benefits are often overlooked. Create a budget. Make sure you communicate with your spouse. You both need to be on the same page with non-negotiables. Hold each other accountable.
Make a plan. What are your income streams? And how do you plan on making up those income streams? Think about the different tools you will need, the support. You don’t need a formal document. You need a place to brain dump, to answer some of the key questions. Writing it down makes it real and accountable. Break it down into your monetization streams.
Don’t forget about the business expenses that you don’t have yet. See what systems & processes you can get for free like Trello! Don’t forget non-negotiables expenses like car registrations. Leave a buffer, you never know what can happen. Don’t factor the niceties into your plan, consider it a bonus if it does come in.
“You have to know your numbers. You must know your numbers.”
“Part of the plan isn’t just your household expenses, it’s also your business expenses.”
